Rebuilding Black Economics
WHEN /
Oct 27th - Nov 2nd
WHERE /
Pittsburgh PA
Do you know about the destruction of Black Wallstreet? Greenwood, Tulsa was a thriving, FREE, black community that was destroyed by race riots in 1921.
Following in the footsteps of our predecessors, we have created:
Greenwood Week Pittsburgh, the one and only minority business conference that will give you a guided path to running a successful business or brand. Artists, entrepreneurs, business owners, and anyone is able to attend classes to:
-
Tackle mental and financial health
-
Write/edit your own business plan
-
Apply for your MWDBE status
-
Learn how to market and brand yourself effectively
-
Locate and secure funding
-
Properly budget your finances
-
Learn the workings of paperwork and administrative duties
-
Learn the essentials that go with running a successful business.
During this week, we will have professionals, who are masters in their respective fields, addressing the areas outlined above. We will have opportunities for interaction with organizations that provide resources to interested attendees. We will also have tangible items for attendees to organize their businesses such as coupons, planners, budget spreadsheets, and class outlines. For added convenience, classes are held in the evenings so working entrepreneurs and business owners are able to attend.
**Daycare and dinner will be provided for those who otherwise would have to choose between economic advancement and economic stressors.**
